HERO to Celebrate 5th Anniversary

Ted Waldbart, President of HERO, and Bruce Goddard, Vice President of HERO drew their inspiration to establish this non-profi t organization from the life of Dr. Gerry Lluberas. Dr. Lluberas was a tireless supporter of underprivileged children around the world and led many medical missions to serve them to Haiti. During his lifetime, Dr. Lluberas took care of over 10,000 patients.

On October 31, 2008, HERO will enter its fifth year of operation and has been making a difference in Haiti by building schools and health clinics. Our vision continues to be:

• To provide clean water for 100,000 people which equates to 20 communities of 5000 children and adults

• To provide schools that will educate 500,000 students which equates to 100 schools with 500 students each

• To build more medical facilities with the objective of decreasing infant mortality rate by 1%

Funding is required to achieve our vision of making this difference in Haiti. The following represents a sampling of the need in Haiti:

(These schools will also need construction of water wells as well as solar power or small generators to run the wells and or lights in the school)

Massaide and Hinche: Build a new secondary school

Angoman: There is a school for 450 children with no permanent building

Rode, Hinche, More Brignole, Guimby, Pichon, Bel Aire, Risque, Bois de Lance: build primary schools

Water systems including wells and cisterns are urgently needed in Corail Lamothe, Los Palis, More Brignol, Massaide, Bel Aire, Calmutte, Guimby, Risque and Lay Aye. To achieve our vision of making the difference in Haiti and to continue the legacy of Dr. Lluberas, we need your help. The children of Haiti appreciate your generous financial support.
